Bette Hogan has lived in the same little town all of her life. She fell in and out of love with the man she married, a man of many angry mood swings and few friends. Surrounded by a cast of characters that include an unwilling competitor for her husband’s affection, a San Salvadoran expatriot who dreams of the day he can return to the homeland that he has ever seen, an uncle who tries to be generous to his nephew but instead causes him to be arrested for murder and the emergence of the autistic, self trained observant detective.
